“Pop Corn Bomb on Hiroshima” (trad.: Bomba di Pop Corn su Hiroshima) è un progetto dove Eky Cash con il suo tipico sguardo sarcastico ci parla della tragedia della prima bomba atomica americana su Hiroshima.
Con un unico simbolo (il fungo atomico di pop corn) l’artista ci parla di America e di cinema Hollywoodiano; di come un dramma umano venga fagocitato dal tempo e trasformato in un prodotto di rapido consumo e di spettacolo; e di come tutto questo possa annientare in un istante una cultura e un simbolo sacro come una bandiera e il suo popolo.
Through the project “Pop Corn Bomb on Hiroshima” Eky Cash, with her typical sarcastic approach, tells us of the tragedy of the first American atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
By using just one symbol (the mushroom cloud made of popcorn), the artist hints at America and Hollywood-style cinema; at how a human tragedy can be phagocytized by time, and even processed into a fast moving consumer good and entertainment product; at how all this can annihilate, in an instant, a culture and a sacred symbol like a flag and its people.
