Here to help you (trad. Qui per Aiutarti) sembra citare romanticamente la scritta “to protect and serve” che appare sui distintivi della polizia americana e sulle loro auto. Tristemente la stessa scritta era anche sulle auto e i distintivi dei poliziotti che nel ’91 hanno massacrato il giovane di colore Rodney King. Il senso critico deve essere costantemente esercitato, ci dice George Paul Salle, ed è bene domandarsi sempre quando un gesto di pace non nasconda un atto di conquista.
“Here to help you” seems to romantically paraphrase the motto “to protect and serve” appearing on USA police badges and cars. Sadly, the same inscription was also on cars and badges of the police officers who, in 1991, killed the young Afro-American Rodney King. We must constantly practice our critical sense, George Paul Salle tells us, and it is important to always ask oneself if a peace gesture does instead conceal an act of conquest.
